Big Bong Burger Bar
Barkersvale NSW
CONSTRUCTION SITE
The Construction Site of the First Big Bong Burger Bar (the Peace Zone) is an empty area beside a road rarely travelled inside the rim of the caldera of the extinct volcano that you will find at the eastern most edge of the Great South Land. The Peace Zone is a blank canvas upon which to create, an empty parcel of land that is not connected (yet) to mains power or the telephone grid, it is truly in the cyber wilderness. To many people this may seem bizarre, trying to start a computer based concept inside the rim of the caldera of an extinct volcano, but of course, from our point of view, it is the very fact that the First Big Bong Burger Bar is inside the rim of the caldera of an extinct volcano that makes this exact location so attractive and anyway, this project has always been about the creation of something new, something that you can't get any where or any web else, not to mention the highly important factor that the caldera of the extinct volcano that you will find on the eastern most edge of the Great South Land is located at the geographical center of world peace, after all, Australia is about as far away as you can get from most of the wars that are going on. The location is ideal in the sense that there has to be an element of journey involved, and for 99.2% of the population of planet earth, the journey to the caldera of the extinct volcano involves the crossing thousands of miles of desert, ice or ocean 'just' to get to the eastern most edge of the Great South Land and ideal in the sense that extinct volcano's are easy to find and hard to miss, being as they are, 'mountain sized.'

As you can see, the Big Bong mobile is now on site and is safely wraped in plastic awaiting the next non rainy working day. |
Reality Update March 20th 2003.... the pouring rain didn't stop the start of work on the First Big Bong Burger Bar, at precisely 4.20 PM on the 12th of March 2003 the shovel was pushed into the ground signaling the official start of excavation, however the pouring rain did and has stopped the continuation of excavation. Whilst the rain is still falling in reality, in cyber space we are almost ready to bring the Big Bong on-line shop on line so that as well as tee shirts we can sell coffee cups, mouse pads, fringe magnets and stickers. Thus far, the latest big bong very slowww web show has performing exactly to the chaotic anarchic utopian design parameters established the last time we tried this.

Sunday June 29th 2003. webgreetings dear linear scholar, this page sure is getting long....... Don't worry, once the green button is pushed the wwwhole structure of this web space will be morphing. Some After Mardi Grass / Wot? Next? When? Next? type questions.... 1) Will the rain stay away long enough for a new coat of wwwar paint to be slapped on the Big Bong Mobile? 2) How high is the POTential that the Big Bong Mobile stay at Head Quarters for the entire winter? and if so, will there a least be some live web cam from the Big Bong WWWorkshop? 3) When will the Big Bong Mobile return to the BONG SITE? 4) If the Big Bong Mobile stays away from the BONG SITE how will that impact the Pot Hole? 4.20) And the BIGGEST question of them all is how long will it take to get the power and phone line connected to the BONG SITE. </reality-update-sequence> So, that's about where things are up to, re configuring the Mobile. wwwish list; 8 x large solar panels, 4 x large 12 Volt Batteries, 2 x1000 watt inverters, 1 radio modem or satelite uplink.
